Mothers and Their Children

Mom, You know that we think about you every day, morning, noon, and night.  I cry before I go to sleep some nights knowing that you are not gonna be there when I wake up the next morning, fixing me breakfast and helping me get ready for school.  If you were gone, out of my life forever, then that means a whole part of my heart would be gone and I wouldn't care anymore.  Nobody can replace you...

The MATCH program is all an incarcerated Mom could hope or dream for, a ray of hope, a home away from home."

Thank you so much for the school supplies.  I will certainly use them since I am going into the 10th grade.  I really just wanted to thank you to all the MATCH people.  I think it's such a great program, and I really appreciate everything  y'all do.

My child talks to me more.  He's growing out of the shyness because I talk to him about everything as far as school and his everyday life.

I think MATCH has done a lot for me and my mommy.  It helps me get good grades and mommy because she goes to Shaw University.  I'm proud of my mommy for making good grades!  We can't wait till our nest visit each month because we know we get to spend 3 hours together!  We get to bake stuff. We read to each other.  I used to have nightmares about mommy but ever since MATCH came I've had NO more nightmares!  Thanks you Jesus for MATCH.  Thank you, MATCH!

On my last visit, a surprise visit on my birthday, I cried after they left as I told one of the volunteers how much those three hours meant to me-to be able to laugh, play, cook, do dishes, be normal, if only for a moment.  It is so wonderful to be able to touch their faces, hold their hands, kiss their cheeks, and even burn their food.

I didn't know I had such a good Mom until we started visiting in MATCH.

I miss her a lot. If you didn’t bring me there, I would not get to see her at all. It’s great that I get to come for special holiday visits.

I am sooooo thankful to the MATCH program for allowing me to stay connected with my mom.  My sister and I look forward to seeing her each visit. And thanks for making our visits so fun!

My mom went away when I was only 2 years old, so I never really got to know her.  But thanks to the MATCH program, coming to visit her has help me to bond with her and develop a real relationship with her.  I love every moment we get to spend together!
